About the Scenic Art:

This was the third show I had charged for Ms. Samouce, and we had developed an excellent working relationship. She jokingly told me she would come in under budget on this show because ‘she would just leave everything to me.” Instead of filling the stage with dressing she communicated a dense, overcrowded, stifling urban setting through busy and vibrant paint treatments. The paint elevations for the curved scrim and circular platform were collaged from fashion magazines.
